Espresso Drinks
You’ll want this Black Cat to cross your path again and again.
People who love espresso know there’s a big difference between the way it tastes in a fine Italian restaurant and what you get in most American coffee shops. (Seriously, even the stuff they serve at the Milano Malpensa Airport tastes better than some of the brews we’ve had over here.)
To make sure you enjoy the right kind of rich Euro-flavor, we start with one of the best: Intelligentsia’s Black Cat Classic Espresso, a syrupy blend known for its exceptional balance and sweetness.
How we define "espresso"
There's a hot debate among coffee scholars about whether "espresso" originally meant:
- Squeezing awesome flavor from beans with steam,
- The speed of a train (and your brain on espresso)
- The idea of making a great cup "expressly" for one individual.
We don't know who's right, but for us #3 is the key. We'll never force liquid through a jury-rigged cappuccino machine and call it espresso. We pump it manually like the pros, one cup at a time, right when you order.
