Turkish Coffee

Feel like a sultan as you savor the incomparable taste of the first
coffee ever made.

Legend has it that forty servants were needed to properly serve Turkish coffee to the sultans of the Ottoman Empire. Luckily for you, we’re here to do all the hard work.

When Dripp founder Rabih Sater set out to create the finest Turkish coffee experience available anywhere, he adapted the best method he knew: a spice recipe added to the coffee before brewing. He learned this method from an uncle who has been roasting coffee for over 50 years.

We’ve carefully selected the finest fair trade organic beans from Yigacheffe, Ethiopia, freshly roasted, ground to perfection, and blended with an exceptional mix of cardamom spice to create Black Goat™, our own unique blend with notes of raspberry jam and cocoa.

Fortune in a cup?

Fortune telling and Turkish coffee have been going hand in hand since the beginning. Here’s a fun guide to this traditional custom that you can enjoy with your friends.

Just when you realize that last sip of Turkish coffee will fill your mouth with grounds, swirl your cup three times to distribute the grounds up onto the sides. Now with a swift motion, flip the cup onto the saucer toward yourself and wait for a couple minutes for the grounds to drip down and form patterns.

You should never tell your own fortune. Someone else must read your cup and interpret the symbols for you. The lower half of the cup tells of the past, while the top half foretells forty days into the future. Since all Turkish coffee cups are white inside, white patterns are always “good” symbols, the grounds themselves are considered “bad”. Symbols can be grouped together for a prediction.
